This project is developed for generating information on measures taken at the national level, including legislation and/or measures to combat terrorism while respecting  human rights.  It will also create greater public awareness and understanding among the 4 countries about human rights and terrorism.

While the measures/best practices among the 4 countries are identified, the project will also extend to other ASEAN countries. The reference will be gathered and compiled through FGDs and/or workshop(s) in the 4 ASEAN NHRIs that will be made available to the public through literatures and web-based publication.

The objectives of this project are as follows:

1. Build beneficial relationships among the 4 NHRIs in developing best practices/measures to combat terrorism while respecting human rights;
2. Exchange information and best practices/measures to combat terrorism while respecting human rights;
3. Manage and develop campaign materials for promotion in combating terrorism while respecting human rights;
4. Provide better access to human rights information on terrorism to the public in the Sotheast Asian region; and,
5. Increase awareness of public and media about combating terrorism while respecting human rights in the Southeast Asian region.
